How to choose a therapist when sad or anxious in pregnancy or after delivery
Sep 21, 2023The hardest part of #adulting for me is being a parent. I have often told my closest friends that it would be my hardest won accomplishment. Five Quick tips on choosing a therapist during pregnancy and after delivery/postpartum.
💡 Making sure that they are certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Interpersonal Therapy or both.
💡Look for a Maverick who keeps up to date with practice changes and goes to conferences.
💡Make sure that they are state licensed and belong to a professional organization.
💡 Look for PMH-C or specific training in perinatal mood disorders.
💡 Look for a therapist with similar interests. Exercise, Music, etc.
💡 After meeting the therapist do you think that they are adaptable and intuitive? Much like Lydia Moore Allen LCSW, MCAP, QS, CPI
